The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi is one of the seven Polytechnics established by the Federal Military Government under Decree No. 33 of July, 1979. It is located in Gwallameji community, 5km away from Bauchi town, the state capital along Dass/Tafawa Balewa road. Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi started operation in May 1979.The TETFund Centres of Excellence (TCoEs) intervention was first considered in the 2020 intervention budget, where the Fund’s Board of Trustees for the establishment of twelve (12) Centres of Excellence for the universities, two in each of the six geo-political zones. On 25th November 2021 the Executive Secretary for Tetfund, Professor Suleiman Bogoro announced the establishment of 12 additional TETFund Centres of Excellence (TCoEs), two in each of the six geo-political zones comprising one Federal Polytechnic and one College of Education. The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi is a beneficiary for the North-East zone. The mandate of the Polytechnic TETFund Centres of Excellence (TCoEs) is to focus on technical skills and entrepreneurial education.
