The Centre has held its second quarterly meeting for the year 2023.

The meeting looked at the progress made so far from the last meeting of the first quarter.

Speaking during the meeting, the Deputy Director of the Centre, Dr. Aliyu Muhammad Gadam intimated staff of the Centre that 100 hectares of land has been secured at the Upper Benue Basin, Waya Dam, Liman Katagum, a distance of about 50km from the Centre.

On how best to utilise the already acquired land, a 3-man Committee headed by the Head of Project Management Team, Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed has been tasked to work and report progress within two weeks.

The Centre has been working assiduously to provide avenue for the establishment of a rice seed production base in Bauchi state that will serve the demand of the entire Northeast sub-region on behalf of one of its partners the Green Agriculture West Africa Limited (GAWAL). GAWAL is an Abuja-based Chinese agro Company that specialises in the production and sales of an improved rice seeds variety for the improvement of agro business, job creation and food security.
