The Technology, Environment and Innovation coordinator of MEDA Way Nigeria Project, a Canadian-based agricultural value chain organisation, Engr. Salihu Samuel Wamdeo has visited the TETFund Centre of Excellence in Integrated Farming System (TCoEIFS) Federal Polytechnic Bauchi on 9th MARCH, 2022 for equipment inspection ahead of talks for collaborations with the Centre.

Briefing the management of the Polytechnic on the organisation’s mission in the Institution, Engr. Wamdeo said their organisation was involved in the training and empowerment of over 16,000 rural women in Bauchi state in the areas of rice, groundnuts and soy beans processing.

He added that they picked interest in the Polytechnic because they were looking for a way to formalise their training and provide for their trainees cheaper and sustainable methods of processing their agricultural outputs through with the aid of fabrication.

Responding, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Arc. Sanusi Waziri Gumau expressed happiness that the Centre was wooing local and international organisations for collaborations and assured MEDA Way Nigeria Project that arrangements have reached advanced stage for the be fully operational.

He said that the Polytechnic has all the requisite specialties to run the Centre with a view to revolutionising farming for job creation and food security.

The Coordinator, in company of the Centre Director Dr. Kolawole Richards and other key officers of the Centre, was taken round the Agricultural and Bioenvironmental Engineering Technology as well as the Mechanical Engineering Technology workshops and shown an array of fabricated farming equipment.
