Trust Feed Ltd, a Gombe based fish and poultry feeds production company has trained Student-interns of the TETFund Centre of Excellence for Integrated Farming System (TCoEIFS), Federal Polytechnic Bauchi on fish feeds production procedure.The interns who are mostly final year Higher National Diploma (HND) students from the School of Agricultural Technology of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi received a one month internship training at the company’s Head Office at Gombe, making them the first set of interns to acquire the basic knowledge of fish feeds production from start to finish.Speaking during the graduation ceremony which took place on Friday 13th October, 2023, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Trust Feed Ltd Gombe, Alh. Adamu Abubakar Modibbo said it was a thing of joy for TCoEIFS to consider his company a worthy partner in its effort to take the youth off the streets, build their capacities and release them back to the society for impactful economic development.He assured the Centre that with the rigorous training and supervision received by the interns for four weeks, they could set up their modular fish feeds outlets in their various communities, reiterating that with little push and support, the young men and women could be employers of labour in no distant time.Also speaking at the ceremony, the Director, TETFund Centre of Excellence for Integrated Farming System, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Dr. Kolawole Richard expressed appreciation of the Centre to the Management of the company for providing avenue for the interns to learn employability skills which is one of focal areas the Centre targets to explore for societal socioeconomic development.Dr. Richard said with the weekly reports the Centre was getting from the interns, he was convinced they were leaving the internship as well trained, capacitated and motivated people capable of making themselves, the Centre, their parents and their communities proud.In his vote of thanks on behalf of the interns, one of interns Lumumba John thanked the Centre for selecting them to be part of the beneficiaries of its interventions and appreciated the Management of Trust Feed Ltd Gombe for providing the training, accomodation to some of them and the weekly stipends which made their one month stay hitchfree.Highlight of the ceremony was the issuance of certificates to the interns by the Centre Director Dr. Kolawole Richard and Team Leader Fisheries of the Centre Mal. Umar Babuga Sulaiman.The one-month internship which the students graduated from is part of the mutually beneficial agreements contained in the Memorandum of Understanding entered between the Centre and Trust Feed Ltd Gombe earlier perfected by the Deputy Centre Director Dr. Aliyu Mohammed Gadam when he, in company of the Centre Admin Haj. Rahinatu Abdullahi and other staff of the Centre visited the business premises of company on Monday 18th September, 2023.
