Plans are underway for TETFund Centre of Excellence for Integrated Farming System, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi and the Africa Centre of Excellence for Population Health and Policy, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano to organise seminar and workshop for staff of Centres of Excellence across the country and principal officers of their host institutions.

As part of efforts to strategise the collaboration, the Planning Committee headed by the Deputy Director of the Centre Dr Aliyu Muhammad Gadam was at ACEPHAP, Kano for a workshop planning meeting on 12th and 13th of September, 2023.

Ahead of the planning meeting, ACEPHAP had requested that TCOEIFS send a planning proposal detailing the bits of the partnership to simplify the discussion and provide direction for the collaboration.

Received by the Director of ACEPHAP Prof. Hadiza Galadanci, the Committee went through the proposal and arrived at the following decisions:

  1. Seminar for Principal Officers of host institutions of TETFund Centres of Excellence to hold for two days between 26th and 28th of November, 2023 at ACEPHAP Kano;
  2. Workshop for staff of TETFund Centres of Excellence across the country to hold for five days between 11th and 15th December, 2023 at TCoEIFS Bauchi;
  3. ACEPHAP to send Resource Persons to Bauchi for the workshop to talk on specific areas to ensure smooth operations in the Centres;
  4. ACEPHAP and TCoEIFS to separately sit and come up with workable budgets and agenda for the seminar and workshop respectively.

Prof. Hadiza Galadanci appreciated the leadership of TCoEIFS for placing the Centre on the pedals for value addition, development and the quest for achieving the goals for which it was established.

She harped on the need for Centres of Excellence in the country to employ multidisciplinary approaches in running the affairs of the centres for optimum performance and societal impact.
