Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) Way Canada, a registered charity in Canada has visited the TETFund Centre of Excellence in Integrated Farming System, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi on 21st June, 2022 as part of plans to fast track an ongoing partnership talks.

Mr. Pierre Kadet, Senior Regional Director of MEDA Way in charge of West Africa, Middle East and North Africa who led the team said they were in Nigeria to interface with their partners and stakeholders.

He said as the officer coordinating the activities of the organisation in many countries including Nigeria, he was in receipt of a request for partnership from the Centre and assured that the partnership documents are at the final stage of assent.

The Rector, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Arc. Sanusi Waziri Gumau while welcoming the visitors told them that they have no cause to worry about the capability of the Centre to provide training and and solutions as the Institution has assembled its best hands to run it.

Arc. Gumau thanked MEDA for their interventionist activities across the globe, hinting that the surest solution to insecurity was skills acquisition for self-reliance and wealth creation.

Since 2013, MEDA has worked with women and youth in Nigeria providing support to them in the agro-processing and food industries in rural regions of the country.

Over the years, MEDA has supported small entrepreneurs and farmers in the groundnut, soy, rice, vegetable, banana, livestock, honey, cassava, and cocoa value chains.

TETFund Centre of Excellence in Integrated Farming System Federal Polytechnic Bauchi is seeking for partnership with MEDA to provide education and training opportunities which will go a long way in improving the business environment for women and youth in Bauchi, Northeast and Nigeria as a whole.
